New York Adventure

Wauw, it's been too long since i have posted anything! Let alone my incredible adventure that's called New York!
So here it is.. my NYC blogpost.

It has been everything i expected and much much more. There had only been a few times, where i immediatly after i came home said "i wanted to go back ASAP"!
Manhattan is defenately one of them. The only thing i want to do different next time is; pick another season to go... and pick another hotel. We went to Holiday Inn Express and there was actually nothing wrong with it, it's just the location. It was on 45th street and 5th avenue. Although 5th was great!!
Next time i will defenately book a room at the Pensylvania. That location is by far the best you can get. It has a view on Madison Square Garden and is near Penn Station. Everything else is also nearby.

Now for all that we planned to do, we did.. accept the helicopterflight...man, that ishh is expensive! I mean it's ridiculous! A 15minute flight for 300 dollar is way too much!
Besides, we went to the Empire State Building at daytime and to the Top of the Rock at nighttime and then you see it all and in your own time. I have a fear of hights but not anywere here. So don't let that hold you back! It's amazing and we shot the greatest pics ever!

We also did the NBC tour which is fun but not really interesting.. the set of SNL ( Saturday Night Live) was the only interesting part..
We watched ice skating at Rockefeller Center. ( Hubby really wanted to go)

Statue of Liberty is something everyone visiting NY should do, cause it's a must...  i had many flashbacks of Flodder in Amerika...(we did the famous Ma Flodder Pose)

The Crown was closed due to bad weather.. We had a snowstorm comming in.

That overflow of snow gave us the oppertunity to shoot some amazing pictures in Central Park! Wauww THE most beautiful place in NYC at that time! We went for the horse carriage ride, very romantic and very warm, because of the soft velvet seats and blanket!

Of course there was shopping, shopping, shopping and also some windowshopping ( especially on 5th avenue between 45th and 59th)
We took the subway from Penn Station all the way to Battery Park and started walking from there up Broadway through Little Italy, where we had a great lunch!, China Town, Soho, Greenwich Village to Washington Square and from there all the way up on 5th Avenue, back to Times Square to have Dinner at the Hardrock Café.
I went to Springstreet in Soho to visit the Kardashian sisters DASH Boutique which was to me, as a huge Kardashian fan, a highlight!

I went to Topshop, which i did not like very much..to me it's a little overrated and too edgy....just not my style.
I liked, no i loved Forever21 though! Could spend ages in that store, especially the one on Times Square which is 4 floors high!
Abercrombie&Fitch was a great store with cute boys and girls making you feel so welcome.
Not to be forgotten, Macy's, Bloomingdales and also Sephora and MAC stores. I was a little too early for the opening of the Wonder Woman MAC Store at Springstreet...too bad! Now back in Holland i have to wait untill somewhere in march to get my hands on some products!

I bought a lot of make-up and clothes i know i couldn't find over here and i bought MACbrushes and cosmetics because of it beying much cheaper there. So you can say i was shopping with a plan...
What i absolutely loved was the hundreds of Starbucks.... I went crazy for the Vanilla Latte!
We ate at Applebees twice because the food and the service was great! I had a mean enchilada, TWICE!
Also we went for Sushi at Ichiban, real italian food at Mulberry street, Hardrock Café where we had delicious cocktails.

Because we had time left, we went to Madame Tussauds where we had a blast. Just us beying silly.

Overall, it has been a great experience and we've gotten to know NYC pretty well to be sure we know exactly where to go and where not to go next time.

I will be going with either my precious daughter or my girlfriends or maybe even all together..

My buylist?

  • Lip Venom

  • MAC blush

NEW YORK, NEW YORK !!! I LOVE NY

It's happening, it's really happening!
I can't believe it and my whole body is in shock!
Thanks to my dear daddy We are going to New York next week!
It's what i have dreamt of ever since i was a little girl. I have always been fascinated by everything American.
I've been to California and Nevada  multiple times ( and many more to come due to my sweet family living there) but now we're leaving for New York City !!

I almost have square eyes from staring at my laptopscreen for so long, even till late at night when everyone else in the house is sleeping.
I do not understand how my husband is able to sleep... it's beyond me.
I feel so restless that i just can't sleep. I have to make sure i'm not forgetting something so our trip will not be purrfect..
I'm like that.
I already found a million things to do but knowing we only stay there for 6 days i may have to make a plan.
The one thing i'm dying to do is take a helicopter flight over Manhattan.

The other place i really wanna visit is the world famous Central Park and i wouldn't be me if i did not go see the animals at the Zoo there. I'm a real Zoo fanatic.

I got some great tips from a friend, one of them was to go have dinner at the Olive Garden so i will take that to heart.

Furthermore i will be strolling around the streets of 5th avenue to Madison Ave to shop at Bergdoff Goodman amongst others. We defenately want to take a Harlem Tour and have dinner at a real soulfood restaurant and go see the real Jazz-perfomances as they were ment to be!

Tons and tons of other musea, theaters, bistro's , sushi-bars, cocktail places aarrhhh ...i'm dizzy.

The wheater will be nice, cold -2 but sunny!
Our hotel is a whopping 3 minute walk from Times Square.
I'm sure we'll be more dead then alive when we get home but heyy... no sleeping until back in Holland!

Me and my lovely husband really need this break. We've been working our asses off and hardly saw each other, so this is also an investment in our marriage.

                                                                 Love you baby!

Spring Sparkles

I don't known what it is but ever since the new year started i'm into springy things. Spring colors, spring flowers, spring outfits, spring make-up, spring everything!!
As is was surfing online i stumbled on this pic of Heidi Klum. She is one of the most natural beauty's in my opinion and this pic is really defining all i am feeling lately.

The pink blouse combined with the aqua pumps and jeans is defenately a great "claudy-combo"!
I will try to denie the urge to buy natural colored pumps this comming spring/summer season and step out of my comfort-zone and buy pink, aqua and red ones for a change....

Ahhh even though it's raining for days now and the river IJssel is about to overflow, i can't get spring out of my head, but oh well if it makes me feel better, it's a great solution to winterdepression!
